Ofsted registration criteria PDF Print E-mail
In order to become registered with Ofsted your nanny needs to meet certain criteria:
  • Nanny needs to have public liability insurance
  • Nanny needs to have a valid paediatric first-aid certificate
  • Nanny needs to confirm that she has the core skills in childcare and that she is suitable to work with children. She does not require any formal qualifications
  • Nanny also needs to have an enhanced CRB check but this will be done as part of the registration process, through the Post Office Verify System. Please note that even if nanny already has had a CRB check done, another one must be done (unless the previous one was done through Ofsted)
