Nannytax | What employee benefits can I offer my nanny?

New Year, New Perks – Rewards and Wellbeing for your Nanny

For those working for a larger company or those who are office based, perks are very much a normal and expected part of the remuneration package.  Whether that be a subsided canteen, training budgets or remote working, benefits beyond the standard salary are so important to how an employee feels about where they work.

But what about if you only employ one person? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to reward them beyond their payslip? After all, for a nanny, the option to ‘work from home’ isn’t really relevant.

This is why Nannytax is proud to offer a Nanny Rewards & Wellbeing Package to all our nanny employers.

Why offer Rewards to your nanny?

Offering Rewards and Wellbeing can have many benefits.

Retention and Stability

Replacing a nanny or caregiver is difficult, disruptive, and often stressful for the family. Perks help create loyalty and reduce turnover, which means:

  • More consistency for children or dependents
  • Less time spent recruiting and training someone new
  • Reduced emotional upheaval for everyone involved

Additionally, offering a reward and wellbeing package helps your offer stand out, making your employment an attractive proposition.

Trust and Reliability

Household roles often involve a high level of trust (keys to your home, childcare, personal information). Perks can help build a cooperative, respectful relationship that improves communication and reliability.

Goodwill and Mutual Respect

In a private home, the relationship is personal. Thoughtful perks help create a positive, respectful environment where both the employer and employee feel comfortable and valued. When someone feels appreciated, they put more heart into the job.

What is the Nannytax Rewards and Wellbeing package?

We have partnered with Onsi to provide a comprehensive package of benefits, all rolled into one handy app.  Onsi offers:

Rewards

Through the Onsi app, your nanny can access a range of discounts and savings on a variety of high street brands, products and services.  This includes fuel, restaurants, experience days and shops.

Wellbeing

The Onsi programme not only offers access to digital GPs, physiotherapists and qualified counsellors, but also financial wellbeing support and a family support service.  Anecdotally, we know that access to a virtual GP for those who may work extended or irregular hours is greatly appreciated, and can be beneficial for both the employer and employee.

Do I need to declare it to HMRC?

As an employer, you should be aware that certain benefits must be declared to HMRC as Benefits in Kind.  However, the good news is that the Nannytax Rewards and Wellbeing package does not count as a Benefit in Kind, which means that additional tax is not incurred.

Don’t forget that, as a comprehensive payroll service, our team will be on hand to support you with any queries you may have about benefits.

I’m an existing Nannytax customer, is it too late to sign up?

Don’t worry, you can sign your nanny up for our Rewards and Wellbeing package at any stage.  Our subscription costs just £7 a month (paid as a one off annual payment of £84).

So, whether it’s a Christmas gift, New Year perk or just a way to say ‘Thanks for all your hard work’, Onsi offers an inexpensive but valuable benefit for your nanny.
