Nannytax's chosen charity of the year is Rays of Sunshine, a London based charity founded in late 2003. They work to help children aged 3-18 across the UK who are living with serious or life-limiting illness by granting their wishes, however impossible those wishes may seem. Since granting their first wish in 2004 Rays has gone from strength to strength and in the seven years since the charity launched they have granted over 1600 wishes for children nationwide. Rays is still a growing charity and welcome support in any capacity and it's their vision that no child in this situation goes without having a wish granted.Wishes can range from meeting celebrities such as pop stars or sports stars to being a ballerina or a doctor for the day to designing a Nike trainer, or visiting Disneyland Paris. It is the belief of Rays of Sunshine that the whole family is affected by the child’s illness and therefore the whole family should be involved in the wish and have the memories to cherish. Help support Rays of Sunshine There are many ways to get involved, from organising an event, to putting contacts forward, taking part in a challenge, helping to spread the word about the charity or simply donating whatever you can afford.
