"Nannytax has been excellent and your staff very helpful. I contacted the legal support line regarding an issue I had with our nanny, and found that part of the service invaluable."

How to register with Ofsted PDF Print E-mail
Registration is quick and easy, the only thing that sometimes delays the process is the CRB check. Depending on how many different addresses the nanny has had in the last 5 years it can in some cases take several months for the CRB check to clear.

A step-by-step guide to registration:

  1. First nanny needs to ensure that she meets the criteria for registration. Ensure that the first aid certficate is up-to-date and that public liability insurance is in place before starting registration procedures.
  2. The registration process is done entirely online. There is no need for nanny to take any time off for an interview and there isn't even any need for a wet signature. To register simply go to the Ofsted website.
  3. The CRB check is done as part of the Post Office Verify system. Nanny needs to bring proof of her ID along with the £8 admin fee when she goes to have it done. Please note that even if nanny already has a CRB check another one will need to be done as part of the registration process.
  4. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Ofsted helpline on 08456 404040.
