Nanny of the Year 2007 Heidi McFadyen
We would like to congratulate Heidi McFadyen, a 27-year-old nanny from St Neots, Cambridgeshire who has been declared The Professional Nanny of the Year 2007. Nannytax was, together with Chiltern College and PANN on the panel of selecting this year’s nanny of the year, and with five excellent nannies on the shortlist, this was not an easy choice to make. However, it is clear that Heidi does deserve the title and there is no doubt that she will be an excellent spokes-woman for the nanny industry.
The awards ceremony took place at the Annual PAT conference at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate on August 1, 2007. Heidi was presented with the Professional Nanny of the Year trophy and also receives a a two night champagne UK hotel break for two, free membership of PANN for a year, a one year’s free subscription of Which? magazine and - for her proud employers - one year's subscription to Nannytax. The second prize went to Lorna Powell, 27, of Putney, who cares for two children aged 4 1/2 and 6 1/2. Lorna also receives a West End theatre break for two. The third prize went to Helen Bird, 23, of Chippenham. Helen cares for three children, twin girls of 4 and a boy of 2 1/2. Helen also receives a relaxing time gift experience for two.

Nannies having fun: Lorna Powell, Heidi McFadyen and Helen Bird.
The Professional Nanny of the Year Award was first held in 2004. It is organised by the Professional Association of Nursery Nurses (PANN). Nominations for the award are sought from fully qualified nannies (NVQ 3 or equivalent), and nannies must be nominated by their employers. Candidates are also required to have a full CRB Enhanced Disclosure Check. The main purpose of the Professional Nanny of the Year Award is to recognise the highly professional, important role nannies play in providing hight quality, safe and flexible childcare.
Nannytax would like to encourage families to put their nanny forward for the Professional Nanny of the Year award 2008. Please contact PANN on 01332 372 337 for more details.
