The cost of hiring a nanny has risen sharply, with Londoners having to pay more than £28,000 a year for one that lives out, Nursery World magazine reveals today. It says nannies who live with families in the capital are earning £21,500, a rise of 7.5% over the past year.
The report says workers from the countries that recently joined the EU will eventually replace Australian, New Zealand and South Africans, whose work visas carry a 12-month time limit.
