Nominations are now open for the Professional Nanny of the Year Award 2009, a prestigious annual award that recognises the professionalism of nannies employed throughout the UK.

Commenting on what the Award meant to her, 2008 winner Debbie Darnborough, from Shropshire, said: "I have been able to show people the valuable and important role of a nanny – a role that people often don't appreciate.

“Applying for this award is a fun and rewarding process for everyone involved and it shows current and future employers that you are a professional who is serious about their career."

Entrants will be short-listed and interviewed, and the winning nanny will receive his/her prize at the Professional Nanny Conference at Chiltern College, Reading, on Saturday 19 September 2009.
