The Professional Nanny of the Year Award
The Professional Nanny of the Year award, introduced in 2004 was created to recognise the highly professional, important role nannies play in providing high quality, safe and flexible childcare to thousands of families throughout the UK. Nannies are often the invisible professionals and it is hoped that this award will significantly raise the profile of professional nannies and help to give them the recognition they so rightly deserve.
The focus of the award is very much on professional and in order to qualify for nomination your nanny must:
- Be qualified to Level 3 standard
- Have a minimum of 2 years nannying experience
- Have an enhanced CRB check
- Have a current first-aid certificate (early years)
- Be currently employed as a nanny
- Be nominated by current or previous employer
- The nomination must include a Professional Endorsement by, for example, a college lecturer, a training placement manager, the employer’s GP or a health visitor
- Submit a 500 word description of a typical working day
- Submit a current CV and head and shoulders photograph
- Be prepared, if short listed, to attend a personal interview at Chiltern College, Reading, and to provide all original documentation of training certificate, CRB disclosure and first aid certificate
- Be free on the date of the Gala Dinner in July 2007
