How to register with Ofsted
**Please note that whilst we try to provide helpful information about Ofsted, we are not able to help with Ofsted registration.**
Ofsted refers to a nanny, or a person who minds children in the children’s own home, as a Home Childcarer.

You can apply to register on the Childcare Register in the following ways:
- Online by using the Government Gateway which can be accessed via their website here.
- By completing a written application which can be downloaded here.
If you would like an application posted to you please contact Ofsted via email
or call them on 0300 123 1231.
If you submit your application by post it is recommended that you enclose a photocopy of your First Aid certificate with your application. If you submit the application online Ofsted will send you a letter requesting to see evidence of your First Aid qualification. Please refer to your Local Authority for recognised First Aid courses.
OFSTED aims to complete applications within 12 weeks.
