Nannytax and Enable Ltd confirmed its position as the market leader in domestic payroll with a triumphant evening at the 15th annual Pay Awards on November 3, 2009. At the ceremony, which was held at London’s BAFTA building, our Payroll Director Helen Harvey was awarded Bureau Employee of the Year.

The judges said: “Helen has one of the most complex and arguably unique jobs in payroll. Her bureau, Enable (Nannytax) handles thousands of single PAYE schemes for parents employing nannies and care and support employers who are disabled individuals employing their own carers.”

Of her win Helen Harvey said “The nomination for the Bureau Employee of the Year Award came as a complete surprise to me and I never thought I would win! Of course I am absolutely thrilled and it is especially wonderful to be nominated by ones peers.”

Andrew Myers, CEO of Enable Ltd said: “I am delighted that Helen has won this award. It once again shows the esteem in which Helen, and indeed her whole team at Enable, are held by the industry.”

Helen was one of the first employers to begin online filing, spotting the potential this would deliver for efficiency savings. To this end she joined the IREEN group - a collaborative group of early adopters of online filing and HMRC. She now attends many government consultations on behalf of the group to ensure the online perspective is kept at the forefront of decisions. For example when the new tax relief for childcare vouchers was introduced in 2005 Helen was heavily involved in the childcare approval scheme set up by DfES, as it was then, to allow nannies to become registered.

With end of year filing up and running and having become an ambassador for her firm's specialist approach to domestic PAYE schemes; she turned her attention to in-year filing. She worked as part of the small project team to develop HMRC's PAYE Desktop Viewer that has just gone live. This will enable employers and agents like hers to download tax codes and will allow her make a further move to eliminating mountains of paper.

Please join us in congratulating Helen and her team for winning this richly deserved award.
